Thats a great action shot that you captured, although the diver appears out of foucus the expression of the boy framed between the diving board really gives it that summertime carefree feel you really only have when your young. It appears he is jumping right along with the diver. Nice Capture! A suggestion might be if you have would be to straighten the line where the pool and concrete meet so that the pool does not appear to be slanting down to the right. just a suggestion.

I agree you were robbed of a higher spot, this was one of only 2 tens I gave out the whole challenge, great job for any entry and even greater for a first entry. Welcome to the madness that is DPC and thanks for the comment on my fresh new rain pic.

I saw that you said nobody wsa giving you comment on how to improve you shot in the framed scorez thread so I thought I would give you some suggestions. First off let me say that I gave you a 7. I thought it was a good find.
First I think that you should first try and have your image as large as possible ie 640 pixel then second make the file size as large as possible with the 640 size. Especially in your photo with so much foreground in you photo before your "frame" it loses a little impact. On DPC size matters when it comes to photos and I constantly notice that often people who have good shots but are a little small get docked a point here and there and scores seem to be reflecting the presentation of the photo and not the photo itself.
As for composition my suggestion would probably be to have less foreground and have the pillars be at the edge of the frame so stand closer, the edges of the building are alittle bit distracting, and shows the effect of lens distortion, which makes having your verticals hard to get perfectly straight. I hope these suggestions help and is just my opinion.

I think this shot is awesome and I like the feeling of desolation and the composition. I thought I would have liked to have seen alittle bit more PP on the image so I played with it alittle bit. I hope you didn't mind and if you want me to get rid of it I will, or if you want to know what I did I can do that too, just send me a PM. However when I look at the two together I don't know if I did any improvement, just another interpretaion. Abit lengthy, but let me know if you want me to get rid of the photo I used, great photo. 9
here is the link again just try adn paste it I think

This was my pic for spoiling my shot at a ribbon in this challenge. Your shots are great at story telling and showing little slices of life, you are on my highest rated photographers list and one with one with the most challenge entries I have voted on which to me shows your constant excellence in challenges. Your one of the photographers I can pick out your shots out of masses on a consistent basis. Glad to have you here on DPC to enjoy your photos.

excellent use of lighting and depth of field to keep the eye focused on rips in the maps going through Charles County. I'll have to PM so I can find out how you were able to put nothing in your title. 9
Edit: Yeah umm so I figured out that mystery of the title, pressing the space bar, brilliant

you should try and get your images as large as possible and as large a file size as possible, I have found that smaller images than 640 will often get docked points not on the merit of the photo but the size of the image. Here is a link to the photoshop tutorial on this site. I hope it helps. Your image looks great and I like the black and white I just wish it is larger
