The Interchangeableby spidermanComment: My dad's shotgun - his dad's before that - couldn't say when the last time it was fired (not in my lifetime of 48 years) - now I have no idea where the firing pins are |

Diogenes Searching for an Honest Corporationby spidermanComment: Boy - did I learn a lesson on this challange! Don't - I repeat - DO NOT rely on the title to set the context of the photo - What I believe I have is a GREAT photo, maybe for a "free-form" challenge - but after reading the forums this week (and reading the COMMENTS that ECHO the SENTIMENT of the FORUMS), there may as well be NO TITLES ALLOWED seeing how some people frame their judging Anyways ~ at Downtown Disney, the last store (west-to-east) before you get to the park entrances is a Disney Store, and over each of the 3 doors is a diorama of Disney characatures. The outside common area is lit just like the inside of the main park; ie just light enough. A statue of a cartoon character looks pretty much like a cartoon itself, and the photo I got almost looks like CG --- anyways, I liked it ... |

Sun, Moon, Starby PatellaComment: very nice, but i'll nitpick the use of the word 'star' - that bright dot is actually the planet Venus - which IS sometimes referred to as the 'evening star', so i guess i'll shut up now :) |

Slice of Pie in the Skyby spidermanComment: the only think i wasn't happy with was that it wasn't as sharp as when you're just looking through the scope - if i can find the hardware (which i KNOW i have somewhere), i'll reshoot this setup with eyepiece projection - i'm pretty sure that will bring it in nice & crispy --- and to those of you who would like to see more of the moon, sorry but there was no moon cropped out of this - yup, it's a BIG lens! |

Fuzzyby spidermanComment: Yeah, in hindsight I could've done lots more with this little guy (who lives on a shelf over my computer) -- and FYI -- I'm not afraid of him, but lots of people are ... As to the question about the reflected spots on his back - those are grains of sand that either he or some of his food (crickets) have kicked up Oh - and "HE" is a B.Smithi otherwise known as a Mexican Red Kneed Tarantula |
