Mojave Wind by rgrenaderphotoComment: Originally posted by JulietNN: Absolutely brilliant, no idea how you managed this much sharpens on the blade, but it is brilliant. Love how you have brought the colours out, I am really enjoying looking at it, well done! 8 |
The wind was flaky and inconsistent, which got the blades turning on their axis to maximize power generation. The rotation caught the light differently in each of the 50 exposures I stacked into one final image in Photoshop. |

Mt Williamson Building Stormby rgrenaderphotoComment: In 1943-44, Ansel Adams spent time at the Manzanar Relocation Camp in Lone Pine, Ca. Because he was friends with Manzanar camp Director Ralph Merritt, Adams was invited to document the internees and life at camp. One of his iconic photographs, Mt Williamson - Clearing Storm was taken at the exact spot shown within the circular error probability of my handheld GPS. This was, for me, a bucket list photograph, standing in the footsteps of Giants, here is Mt Williamson - Building Storm. |

Scorpion Star Trails-1by rgrenaderphotoComment: Originally posted by snaffles: love the star trails but don't get the scorpion |
First off, it was cool and about 30' long. Secondly, I find it makes for a more interesting composition if there is a foreground object to provide a sense of scale. |
