Saxby graphicfunkComment: This is beautifully focused and the desat is done well...but the reflections in the bell really take away from the image. Of course, I have no idea how to tell you to keep from getting them unless it's to rearrange your house! ;o) |

Twistedby jimmyn4Comment: This shot has some excellent potential...I like the lines and curves, and the yellow really pops. There does seem to be a bit of a haze. Maybe a stronger contrast adjustment could help. Another DPCer also recently told me of a way to use USM to reduce haze...that would be effective as well. The three light-colored poles in the foreground try to compete for attention from my eyes...maybe clone them out or a higher crop? Some might be put off by the centered composition but I think it works just fine for this shot. Very nice capture. :o) |

Cutting Edgeby maelmsComment: Is that blueberry jam or pie filling? This is a well-executed shot; focus and details are excellent. I find that it really isn't selectively desaturated in the technical sense (through editing) and I think that will be what voters are looking for most. Regardless, I won't detract from my score for that. |

Medicinal Marijuanaby labudsComment: Technically the photo is well done; the composition, lighting, focus, etc. is all OK, but I do not find the subject matter appealing. I am trying to not let my personal tastes influence my voting patterns, but in this case, I cannot condone the subject presented, either medicinally or recreationally. |

Flying Billboardby L1Comment: Thanks to you guys who liked it (or not) enough to care to comment...I went with something unusual but I guess it didn't work so well! I liked the shot myself, but then again, I'm kind of weird that way. :o) |

Back to the Harleyby myfelixComment: This has potential...but I do find the model's pose to be a bit forced and unnatural, like she is quite uncomfortable. It's also difficult to discern whether or not this is a post desat or simply a "desaturated" environment from the start. The background is too bright for my taste; a solid black without much detail would lend itself well to the subject. Softer lighting on the model's skin might also look better, or a pass through NeatImage. I'd also like to see the whole bike, or have it at a different angle. Of course, all of these are my opinions. :o) |

Funny Flyby TikicharmComment: Just a bit too noisy/grainy for my taste...which doesn't mean I don't like grain, it just doesn't seem to work well for this image. It looks like a very tight crop of a much larger picture. A bit too fuzzy as well. |

Louisiana leftoversby LafaminitComment: Excellent desat technique used; very vivid color. Unfortunately it's just not a very appealing or appetizing subject, which might inadvertently hurt your score. |
