More Than Seatsby gg3rdComment: I like the outtake better, it seems to have more of a flow to it than the entry. If you crop out the top 15 or 20 pixels, saturate a bit more, then increase contrast a tad, I bet you'd have an excellent abstract on your hands. :) |

The Smileby jjbeguinComment: Interesting...I'm not following the title to any particular element in the shot, but it's your image so I guess you titled it what you thought would work best. ;) Personally, I feel there is way too much foreground to keep a viewer interested in the shot for very long...having to seek out the tiny elements in just the top third of the image is difficult at best. Nice black and white conversion, however. Good luck in the challenge. :) |

Applesby ElaineComment: Nicely composed and good natural color. I think the lighting is the element that is missing for this image; particularly on the basket. It is a bit bright and hot on the wicker and doesn't separate the apples from the background very much. The background on the upper left corner is a bit wrinkly/crinkly or something and that is a distraction. I think you have a great start with this one; just play with the lighting arrangement and see what you can come up with. :) |

Albedo Point Sevenby ShorterThanJesusComment: This is very surreal and emotive. The clouds are a bit too processed for my personal tastes, and I'd like to see the ground a bit more so that the trees don't appear to be floating in the sky. Interesting composition; good luck in the challenge. :) |

Reclamationby chimericvisionsComment: Great find; lovely flowers. I understand the whole delicate-flower-blooming-in-spite-of-razor-wire concept, and the composition does enhance the concept as well, but there are a few things that are not working for me while I view the image. I think the foreground OOF elements distract rather than enhance this particular image, and the stick/stem going through the top half really distracts as well. The whiteness of the background make the image a bit confusing because it's difficult to tell if it is sky and you are outside, or if it is a backdrop, or something else. The composition seems a bit cluttered and crowded, and the razor wire being OOF (even though it's purposeful) also is a distraction. Maybe a wider view or crop that shows more flower, less clutter of leaves/stems might be better. I could be all wrong though. I am by no means an expert and am just calling it as it comes to mind. You obviously have a keen eye for what others probably pass by daily and never notice...which is the best gift a photographer can possibly have. Good luck in this and in future challenges. :) |

Breaking Throughby sibelingComment: Really nice and smooth. I think there is a bit too much blue, perhaps pulling the blue curve down a tiny bit would make the other colors pop more. Nicely composed and framed. :) |

Montauk Lighthouseby JPRComment: Great textures and tonal range...I do think the image is a little bit busy for my eyes to take everything in all at once. I love the sky. The lighthouse is such a small part of the composition, but is your title of choice. I wonder how this would have looked from a lower vantage point, with more sky and less foreground. :) |
