Lilyby janrussComment: excellent flower study. DOF is excellent; the petals are sharp where they need to be and blurry where they should be. colors are used to good effect. lighting is strongly directional but not harsh. |

Silly Me!by scalvertComment: this reminds me in a certain way of a picture that DrAchoo took of himself involving briefs. Perhaps you've seen it. Maybe we should have a "self-abasing self portraits" challenge...

Samoa Pulp Mill by bryanbrazilComment: for the challenge, I think you made the right choice. obviously you couldn't have done much better than you did! I like a couple of the other pix quite a bit but their emphasis on 'industrial' is not as strong - here the focus and message are razor sharp and obvious. congratulations on your ribbon for this fine image. the wind-blown smoke/steam is fascinating. |

chocolate by ursulaComment: Ursula - of course! This photo could only be yours. I knew you wouldn't disappoint in this challenge! Great processing - a wonderful effect and all the more interesting because I feel this is much darker than most of your imagery. |

They Came From the Sinkby muur88Comment: I sure look forward to whatever commentary you might have made about your setup - this looks like a real creative feat! |

RRby DiamondPeteComment: I take it that you're illustrating "fork" as in "fork in the road" - it took me a minute to get the link to the challenge. I think that a single fork in the road would have been more illustrative than what looks like part of a switchyard, or what is in any case a more complex arrangement than a branch from one to two lines. overcomplexity is obfuscating your concept. |

bowl in sinkby ZenjohnComment: reminds me of Art Roflmao's "accidental letters" entry - compositionally speaking - this is less appetizing, however
good picture, I like the harsh lighting.
maybe a little too much space at the top, possibly could have been cropped a bit on the left. looks slightly imbalanced. |
