Catzeyez (Cathy McHam, Id 41713)by docpjvComment: Given short shrift in the scoring, this was! I love the almost-painted effect that the relatively shallow DOF provides; the smooth colors at the edges make it look almost as if there is an infinite plane of "tigerness" beyond the boundaries of the image. aside from capturing a thoughtful-looking and direct gaze from this large cat, you've accomplished something I find rare, which is activating the space outside of the image frame. Very nicely done. |

gurlwithapenby arsenalComment: Adding myself to the ranks of those who say this should have scored higher. A dark image that is also delicate is a rare find, and you have accomplished it here. |

Wavelengthby Joey LawrenceComment: I guess I'm just missing something here, because I still don't get it...
if they were telephone lines I could make it make sense (wavelength of the sound being carried)... but the connection that this image has to 'wavelength' still evades me. perhaps you can help me out?
btw - thanks for commenting on my submission - I respect and value your opinion! |

trainby whiteroomComment: hm, I wouldn't have guessed this was yours. There are so many shots that look like this and attempt to capture what you have, but fall short. The angle of your shot combined with the thick fog recreate perfectly the air of mystery and anticipation that one feels before beginning a journey. |

vulturebabe...dressed to killby sajinComment: this is such a strong image! 9th is not at all bad, but I think it should have done even better! I had this as one of my 3 9's (I'm very sparing in my use of 10s, and gave none of them in this challenge). |

StormyWeathersby ZoomdakComment: mm, looks like haystack rock!
// returning to add a further comment - I really like the darkness and grain of this image. the lines in the sand produce a good sense of visual depth. this is one of my top picks. |
