Oh zoomie, I loved this one. It was a heck of a lot better than a 5.4, but alas, that's DPC. Keep snappin shots.

The grain, the dullness in contrast, the angle - it's the definition of the beach in Oregon at night. I can feel the dreariness and damp cold. This was probably the most creative shot in this challenge, in my opinion. Nice work.

Fantastic mood. Composition wise it could use a stronger element somewehere, but I really like the mood.

This leans more on artistic rendition and while I would love to see a tad more contrast I can also see the advantage of leaving as is with its soft tonal movement. Bumping up.

mm, looks like haystack rock!
// returning to add a further comment - I really like the darkness and grain of this image. the lines in the sand produce a good sense of visual depth. this is one of my top picks.

The grain and tone of your photo gives me a 1950ish feel. Like I'm looking through an old family album. It does match your chosen username. Bumping up after second look.

I know why you would make this grainy, but I think it's too grany.

What a dynamic shot. Makes me seasick just looking at it.

Nice shot, one of the few images I actually like image grain, normally detest it. I just think this would be such a stronger image if there was someone walking along the beach "fighting" against the wind, it´s nice the way it is but I feel it is missing something...

A bit too muffled for me. Must have been a really windy storm!

If you've never been to the Oregon coast in winter on a stormy eve, you won't know how true this photo reads, with the loose sand blowing fast across the hardpack wet sand, the sky filled with rain, and no human soul in sight. Great capture of a barren but beautiful landscape! My only crit: a closer crop might give this photo more punch, with less sandy foreground and more emphasis upon the sea monolith and isolation of the coastal village.

Very intense, but perhaps a bit too noisy?

AH this is gritty and beautiful! I really really really like it. NO pretensions, down-and-dirty... You're gonna get hammered, of course, for "noise"...
