Coming or Going?by PangurbanComment: Has a precise, mythic feel to it. Maybe it's the idea of travel, maybe it's the fine detail that can be found in a diorama. In any case, the moodiness of black and white conveys a timelessness that's quite enjoyable. |

Blues Cluesby JulietNNComment: What a breathtaking depth of field, turbulent clouds in the foreground and the line of a road far below, leading towards a distant panoply of mountains. Makes for a dynamic composition and sensibility; we're birds, sailing the updraft. As the road is a line, it barely converges, but rather vanishes under the weather. This seems entirely legit, unless you're a stickler for points. The tones of the land are delicately handled, difficult with such modest contrast. The clouds are well-sculpted and intense, of a sort with which Beethoven could contend. The overall blue cast brings all the elements into harmony. Powerful and richly satisfying.

A Long Walk by DistantColoursComment: This has the air of a fantasy film or book. The surroundings are perfectly manicured, the trees are leaning outward, the path is long, there's a golden city at the vanishing point. The biker is poised at the outset of adventure, or maybe another chapter. A single figure is not far in front. The sun is shining, though muted, and the clouds are perfect. The story is so captivating, please commence. It's a wonderful image that opens out, both visually and figuratively, into an entire new world.

all the colours of the rainbowby rozComment: Incredible spectral banding. Enchanting, mesmerizing, surprising. By technically inferior I suppose you mean the slightly out of focus head on the spider. That's all that I can discern. I gave your entry a 6, which is quite lower than I usually give your remarkable insect images. My feeling was that the positioning of the wasp is somewhat cumbersome, hard to get a solid feel for the insect as a whole. Just a personal impression. I would have given the spider image a 9.7, which rounds up nicely. And put it into my favorites, which I'm going to do anyway from here, a first for an outtake.
Your macro images continue to delight me. Your determined efforts and creativity are appreciated. |

Under the candlelight by LevTComment: Handsome study of this scholarly, possibly medieval figure. Except for the bifocals. The candlelight knits it all together. |

study hardby willemComment: Fine study of concentration. Black and white works very well, capturing the late hour (guessing this isn't before dawn). |
