dia-ubiqueby 2mccsComment: Excellently caught moment of intensity. I like the extent of focus on the dog's head and the obliteration of most everything else. Is that a toy or a carcass? It's delectably unapparent. All that's left is the intensity. The vignette is interesting and also works well. |

Girlhood, Glamour, and Ghostsby CuttoothComment: The colors delight even before closer examination begins. Of course it's the young woman looking into the window that makes the image. The depth and latitude of her musings and dreams are beyond my shallow understanding. The reflections in the window are like indecipherable thought balloons. And the reflection of the "Cross" traffic light symbol on the far right is charming. Very enjoyable. |

The perfect flowerby timfythetooComment: There's a full story, even a novella, in this image. She's drawing flowers, but she could also be said to be remaking the world. The composition is artful (darn, can't escape those puns). Her beautiful concentration is compelling. We can still see some bits of the prior world at the top of the window. And what what a fascinating choice to go black and white --- it's probably quite colorful. Very strong. |

in passingby tangueraComment: A framing like this that truncates an image's story seems to be rather appealing to Ubique, tantalizing and allusive. While truncated (unavoidable pun), here I find the fabulous spread of roots enough to hold my interest mainly within the frame. I find the allusion from feet to roots, and back again, replete with meaning and symbolism. I won't spin it out, but I'm moved by it. Beautiful tones. |

Affannoso moderato con fangoby jjbeguinComment: I'm curious to know the English translation of the title. My guess -- "Etched, Oxidized and Moonlit" It's either a toxic waste site or an extraordinarily processed image. It's rewardingly interesting and beautiful in a topsy-turvy way. What I really like is the sputtering sunset or moonrise (or their opposites) on the horizon. Wonderfully creative. If Armageddon looks like this I won't be completely dismayed. |

nicheby skewsmeComment: Beautiful image this becoming array of branches, exquisitely posed and positioned bird and the supporting background. The modest tone enhances it all. It has the mood of Japanese or Chinese love of nature. |

Bugs, Dogs And The Toyotaby grahamgatorComment: One of those glass snow globes that encapsulate a parallel universe, but with bugs instead of snow, a relaxing (I hope) dog instead of Santa Claus, and a scene so much more interesting than the usual. The rest of the image is effectively bokeh, admirably muted. I find this to be artistry, alchemy, a tour de force. Bravo. |

goddamn the man by DiukComment: A tale of almost-silhouettes and a glorious black expanse. Contemporary noir. The signs add that bewildering touch which secures the image's idiosyncrasy. I don't understand the title, but think this is a terrific image. |

waiting it outby KMcCComment: Lovely image. Camouflage, alertness and staying alive is serious business, so please forgive me for indulging in the sense of sweetness I also feel. Perhaps it's the overall delicacy or the emotional projection of the sunlit tree trunks as guardian spirits. The tone itself is magical. There's an eternal story being told here, and I thank you for sharing it. |

seeby NeatComment: Great capture of the moment. Grace on the fly. Focusing on the sign is a creative choice which allows the rest of the world to just happen as background. It dispenses with the preoccupation of peering at the endless details. One of the most interesting photographs in the challenge. |
