Ha, the dog is alive and well. The curve of the window distorted the image a bit. This is Chloe, my son's dog. We were dog sitting for the weekend. Our dog, Lucy, is the white spot in the shade. Chloe really likes to lay in the sunshine and I just happened to see the scene and quickly got the camera before they moved.

Loving all the comments. Thank you.

I want to like what you've done here, but sure am hoping that dog isn't dead.

One of the best dog pictures to come out of this joint for a long time, no wonder dogs rule the earth. Thank you.

I think this is the wrong side of the mirror, but it works anyway. Well it mostly works, except it made the dog sideways. Well, dog star, actually, but it fell out of the sky because it's daytime and because the mirror is backwards.

Some things just can't be done with Instagram. We still need photographers. Thank you.

I'm hanging this in my fantasy gallery

The contrast with a bleak background gives it a nice punch.
Does lean towards being an Australian outback short story.

I can see this being a favorite of Ubique. The vignetting and just the touch of blur and the different tones and details make it a wonderful image and I am hoping he likes it as as much as I have enjoyed looking at this image.. I was wondering if the dog was dead in the mirror for a moment, then I had to look closer. How someone could not be pleased with this image for this challenge will be beyond me and with the little smaller details it holds the interest just a bit longer. I think it was done in great taste and I am hoping Ubique likes it as well. The tones are nicely matched too and I can still make things out to what they are supposed to be.
I really like the composition as well. Well done!

One of those glass snow globes that encapsulate a parallel universe, but with bugs instead of snow, a relaxing (I hope) dog instead of Santa Claus, and a scene so much more interesting than the usual. The rest of the image is effectively bokeh, admirably muted. I find this to be artistry, alchemy, a tour de force. Bravo.

I'm loving all things about this, a mundane scene captured in a mundane object, it all comes together to make the moment very special, then there's the title, great.

Entirely too weird. Which makes it a very good choice for this challenge!

As long as the dog is just playing dead or napping, great shot.

I cannot resist this kind of photograph. I use my own side mirrors as a set every time I go out photographing wildlife (where I go you are most unwise to get out of your vehicle). I love the surreal effect of something in the side mirror; everything looks like Dali was involved. This one is a great example of the whacky world of side mirror shots. I've yet to figure out how to get an elephant to lie down on the road after I pass by, as has your dog. But I'll keep trying after this. I enjoyed it very much and I thank you.

Great title. Nice tones, very well spotted. This is what happens when you your eyes are open all the time and you've got the spirit to just see what happens.

What a perfect tribute to Ubique. The composition is perfect. I hope the dog is alive and well and was just
posing.

A photo within a photo with a lovely cross-processed look. I like the inner photo the best, the chrome forms a portal to 1976. Evocative of that remarkable summer.

All dogs were hot that year.

I like this a lot.
