The old power station by NeatComment: For whatever reasons, it ran out of juice, which feels especially forlorn, as if it's dying from within. It's photographed in a dignified, bright manner, to give it its due. There's a nice, rhythmic procession of vertical lines. |

empty businessby KathycComment: I sense here the plight of the small town. The building is crisp and ready to engage, but the economy itself has abandoned it. Good sense of being forlorn, and a well laid out composition. The 2 hour parking sign is a fine touch of irony. |

Open Floor Plan by giantmikeComment: I would, if I may be so presumptuous, lop off the right side of this image, as it seems to add little to the main attraction. The abandonment here is so ancient and complete that, as ruins go, this is rather jaunty, as if the remnants are engaged in a courtly dance. As such it's an image that's enjoyable to look at. |

Old Railroad Building Elk Grove CAby londilly1Comment: Artistic foreground adds some grace notes to this Alamo-like structure. You've captured this structure on the cusp of letting go. There's a nice sense of time waiting in the wing. |

Neglected At Leastby dtremainComment: Very honest title. And neglect is on the spectrum. There's a wary sense of impending downfall here, captured by a discerning eye. |

Whitehall Innby NikonJebComment: A fresh coat of paint and some trimming could spruce this place right up. Time has yet to exert its ravages. There's a feeling of cheerfulness here that is rather inviting. |

The Old Windmillby GeneralEComment: What a eccentric little structure! The sense of abandonment here is more of the person who built it than the structure itself. Nice perspective and sun flare. |

Open Houseby MargaretNetComment: Despite the abandonment, this looks like a set piece on a stage. The presence of past inhabitants is almost tangible. So there's a perky freshness here that's appealing. |

The Birch Ruinsby hahn23Comment: I think this might fare better as a black and white because the brightness of the day and colors belies the feeling of real abandonment, unless that's what you're going for, in which case, please excuse me. A good sense of immediacy. |

a fine place, onceby 2mccsComment: Wonderful composition and sense of being gutted. Real feeling of quiet, bygone gentility. |
