Last minute shot in the final hour of the challenge. At an old abandoned gas station I've been to a couple times before.

Light painted with my Coast LED flashlight, including the hand (shadow puppet style). I walked to camera right and lit part of the scene from that side. The red glow is coming from my car's parking lights.

Funny how mixed the reactions were about the hand. It wasn't a completely original idea (what is, these days?) because I've seen several light painted shots that use shadow hands and wanted to do one.

Congrats on the red. The hand definitely makes the shot.

Congrats! And, a big wave to that hand! Clearly, I was wrong. :-)

Congrats on winning the red. You deserve a hand.

Congratulations! I was honestly on the fence about the "hand". I love the texture that you managed to capture in the front structure, but what REALLY was kind of freaky (to me) is that it looks like a very small window on the side by the hand and it looks like there is light coming from inside the building. Don't see light from the front, so i just couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Maybe the lights off to the right were shining through to that window.

Congrats on the ribbon. Very impressive photo. It takes a lot of skill to take a photo this good in low light.

If the hand is added I'm not sure I'm a fan of it. Well taken and processed otherwise.

Mysteriously lit gas station that has the feel of a particular Edward Hopper painting. I would prefer it without the shadow hand, but certainly grant the horror movie effect. The bright light to the right is a distraction, but overall I think this is a very evocative image.

I like the eeriness of this with the night sky and the mysterious hand.

I guess some processing on the very clean white wall would change the impact of this wonderful shot. The sky is top. The creepy hand adds something extra. A 7 from me.

I think someone had a hand in the abandonment of this place. Looks cursed to me.

That creepy hand? Is it a shadow or something painted on the building? If it was staged for the shoot, my personal opinion is that it distracts from the ruin of the building.

Having said that, the lighting set-up for this night shot captures the failure of the structure and all the textures of such dilapidation. Additionally, it is an excellent demonstration your skill at handling night shots. The hard light off to the right of the frame is very effective.

Technically, well executed - except for the hand - and a creative interpretation for this challenge.

If you did not add the hand, my apologies for nagging on it.

The hand of time claiming it's victim. Totally makes the photo.
