Escape from Smurf Villageby wbanningComment: Without the car this is a pleasing landscape. Adding it sailing over the crest, along with the terrific title, lifts the image way up into whimsy, fun, humor and charm. There are many fine photos in this challenge, but this is the one that really made me smile. The blues and yellows and the dab of red, and the clouds, are a very comfortable combination. I wish I were out standing on the roadside. |

Truth about Roswellby Alex_PetriniComment: Simple, atmospheric and charming rendition of an old time sci-fi movie. Perfect time of day for a picturesque abduction. The blue-purple is lovely. |

A patch a blue skyby bobccComment: No expert editing necessary for this lovely waterscape. The horizon moves against conventional wisdom to mid-image, yet thrives there amongst the reflected symmetry. The tree and tree stumps are well disposed, their composition anchoring this fine image. |

Sunny day by asijComment: What a beautiful and fun image! It appeals to the desire, childlike and otherwise, to see the world as a happy summer (again, and otherwise) day, complete and innocent. The sky is an ultimate, ideal blue, grading sweetly about the sun, with clever accents of varying shades strewn here and there. |

Blues by gyabanComment: Lovely evocation of color and mood. The milky hue used herein nicely suits the particular light found just under the surface, suffused with sunlight. The saxophonist is beautifully posed, comfortable and engrossed. I really enjoy following the notes in their circuit as they are freed from their bubbles and swim free. |

they made a living here, years agoby jmritzComment: My comment didn't get through -- sorry. Your title led my observations. Mostly I felt the absence of the family, the bustling about, the children playing on the rock. The fogginess frames the image in poignant loss. The building seems to lean to the left with bated breath, as if there is a tomorrow. |

Creeping Decayby PenelopeKComment: My comment got lost somehow, somehow meaning my own misstep. I thought this was very strong, verging on an abstract. I also noted the twining vine, roots and whatever, veering into sci-fi. I happen to find the sign distracting. Nice entry. |

Open Floor Plan by giantmikeComment: Congratulations on your high finish. Charming image. How neat that people can picnic here -- can taste the watermelon... |
