Untitledby aznymComment: This is the image of the two that I appreciate most - not that one need choose. The focus on the woman is stronger and the composition more embracing. She seems to be a hero, showing the way through a forest of combustion engines. I read her glance as doubtful, though to really know isn't possible. Using black and white is a good choice for allowing focus to remain on the woman. I imagine that this scene is a riot of color. Amidst all the visual busyness is also a sense of calm. Windows, motorcycles and the tessellated street provide horizontal continuity throughout. Another terrific photograph of life as it is lived. |

Road Neighbourby jomariComment: Thanks for explaining your processing approach, which saved me a bunch of confusion. It's a strange effect, but interesting. I like the elegant curve in the road that allows a straight ahead view of the sea (as it looks to me). It's a good composition that affords room for movement. Very pleasant color palette. |

Temptationby instepsComment: Very engaging perspective and composition. You're immediately thrust into speculation about whether or not an interaction is taking place or if these are strangers who just happen to be in each other's circle for an instant. The fragments of clothing seem to be stand-ins for the people themselves. The title sure encourages curiosity. It's also very cinematic. If I may, Hitchcockian. I really like this and wish I knew what happened next. |

climbingby posthumousComment: Are the colors desaturated? Maybe it's just the discordant scene of what look to be men climbing on the playground jungle. Is something dramatic going on here, or just something unusual? Why does it feel spooky? The tilt of the scene perhaps jangles inner emotions. I like the stippled, blurry chain fence that beautifully engages the maze of shadows. |

Foliageby hajekaComment: My wife just said, seeing this image, "looks like a fairy tale," and I agree. A walk in the woods seems like a welcome break from, well, everything. You're fortunate to have such beauty and tranquility near at hand. I like how my eye wanders upward as if walking the trail. So glad you have time to enjoy the forest and thanks for sharing this lovely picture. |

whats that?by Ecce_SignumComment: Dogs galore! This lens and pose yield an interesting confusion of information that puts his (so I believe) focused eye of the mass of fur in the center, like that of a hurricane. It's not hard to figure out, but it does engage the imagination. The out of focus areas are less bokeh than diffusion through a sheer fabric, which brings consistency to the effect. It does work well in portraying Skye's lassietude. Your affection comes through in this endearing image. |

- - - -by krnodilComment: Good morning, Karen. This image has obviously been taken only a short time ago, and I feel that this is almost a conversation. Here's what I like about it. The fence that naturally disappears into the background at the left, waving off a persnickety need for contrast. The lower clouds that catch sunlight on their backs and only present their coyly shadowed faces. The big sun with its indistinct rim. And the huge, dark cloud that sails along overhead and complicates the mood with drama, though I imagine it's resolved in Act II. Fine and rewarding. Enjoy the day. |

Kitchenby GermaineComment: Oh to allow oneself to fall into a picture that one might easily, impatiently, trot past. With the help of the title the eared pot, the table and the mug appear. Can't make out what's towards the lower left. The heavy grain plays with accepted reality as edges disintegrate, only to reform by dint of suggestion. The composition of tones can be seen on an atomic level. Thanks for the invitation. |

Untitledby aznymComment: A handsome capture of men working in the night. I like the harsh lighting that throws detail into sharp relief. There's also the sense of unknowable mystery in the darkened pile of dirt on the back of the truck and the hidden scoop of the excavating machine. The angled perspective serves to bring the man hanging off the excavator almost upright, as well as adding dynamism. Comes together well. |

squareby MAKComment: This is like a Chinese scroll in a single image, starting at the first trace of the trail and through sumptuous autumn to the cloud-graced mountains in the upper right. It's an tacit diagonal that starts back down in the lower left. So subtle and effective. What a way to spend a beautiful day. I also really like the clusters of houses and outbuildings on the right, replete with a scattering of tiny cows. I feel refreshed just gazing into it. |
