It's magnificently ambiguous. Means nothing, means everything. Thank you.

You are stepping into what is for me a dangerous field. For one who has interest in how the eye works this is cataract doubled by glaucoma!
I read a fascinating book called " A World Through Blunted Sight" by Trevor Roper. It's an inquiry into the influence of defective vision on Art and Character.

There is this contemporary painter Gerhardt Richter Richter - Cell
that paints sometimes like blurry photographs and some photographers who shoot like painters....and I am in two minds about this, unless I get totally taken by one or the other

so primitive, so barely an image, I like how far you took it. and this is a good composition for a square, with strong shapes at three sides and the bottom open.

all those shiny ladles! I might have tried a tighter crop on the left and top sides

the counter at the bottom right really anchors the image

So the pot called the kettle black? This is another that I think I would enjoy more if it was cropped. Reflections usually add so much to a still life but IMO this one does not.

Oh to allow oneself to fall into a picture that one might easily, impatiently, trot past. With the help of the title the eared pot, the table and the mug appear. Can't make out what's towards the lower left. The heavy grain plays with accepted reality as edges disintegrate, only to reform by dint of suggestion. The composition of tones can be seen on an atomic level. Thanks for the invitation.

ok, a ladle, shelf and pot? (and it's shadow) - that's about all I see, the rest is a glorious pile of noise. I really like this :)
