welcome home...by phooztComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Oh, lovely, I get an image from one of our Icelanders to look at again. You folks do such good work, but then, you have some spectacular scenery to work with.
You certainly earned a respectable score with this elegantly planned out image, but not a spectacular one. Perhaps because there were so many real dazzlers in this Challenge? Who's to know. While this reads a little dark, you have given us a reason with the overcast sky and besides you don't get that much sun in early March! I wonder if the house saturation is augmented a bit much? hard to say, you were there, I wasn't.
I like that you didn't go overboard with the HDR technique. Your image still looks like a photograph and that's a welcome sight.
About all I can say is "keep 'em coming." You're doing fine and sometimes images just don't catch the fancy of the voters.

What a nice, technically good, and well framed image.
But it didn't score well. I rather think your comments spell out the reason: the frame is great, but it's what is (or is not)inside the frames that probably was your downfall in the scoring arena.
Oh, for a rowboat in the water, or a person (in a red jacket?) standing in one of the frames.
I'm always glad to see one of your images. They usually have something interesting to say. Keep 'em coming! (I know you will.)

Making a living...by camerabugComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
When I scroll down through an image that I have just been assigned, I sometimes hope it did well. this is one those times. Well, it did score in the 'average' range. But then I kept scrolling and found that you had attained a very high pinnacle, that of Posthumous's Fantasy Art Gallery. Not bad, [thumb]camerabug[/thumb], not bad.
This image is beautifully composed. All the information in there is essential. It has excellent clarity. Are the colors believable? Maybe a little over the top, but hey, if that is what they were, well...
About all I can say is "hey, don't be a stranger!" Send in more than 4 images a year because they will be appreciated, if not by all, then at least by a discerning few. Nothing wrong with that!

Refreshingby kingskingdomComment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
LOL - for one who has "the creativity of a house brick" you're doing pretty well on this Site.
You scored very well in the always challenging Free Study where any number "6" and above is certainly an accolade. While I'm sorry you didn't put much in the way of comments in the Photographer's Comments box, there is little, if anything to critique in this image anyhow.
So, with congratulations for a fine finish, I'll close by saying I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

The 1961 Chevy and the Chuck Taylors: Leftovers of the All-Americanby geinafetsComment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
It's always tough to see an imaginative image like this one get a low score. But it happens now and then.
I have a feeling that some of the techniques you used were misinterpreted as 'mistakes' as in your deliberately almost monochromatic image. Then our voters often come down hard on images with foreground blur. Still, you did receive some positive comments from those who 'got it' and you had a fine chance to photograph good subject matter in situ so some plusses came from the experience.
About the only suggestion I would make with this fun image would have been to round out the tops of those sneakers to make it appear that an invisible entity was actually in them. But, really that's just another interpretation of your fine idea.
Best regards,
