I have been to NY 3 times, once on a short working trip back when I was a post grad, which I loved, because it really allows you to get under the skin of the "real life" of a city and the other 2 times just for a short holiday.
Absolutely LOVE that city. My dream was always to live there for about 6 months (I don't think I could take it for more, I am actually more of a country girl :-)).

Animals are so amazing. There was that comment in GI Jane: "I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself". I am not sure that is 100% correct, one or 2 of my dogs make a good pretense at times ;-), but animals certainly accept a situation and just get on with it.
Yes, I am sure her other senses have become more acute.
