Scratch by gyabanComment: Christophe, your notes start with:
For this entry, I decided to create something simple, for a change
You said it all. The one time where "less is more" truly applies. You created a strong image, still a photograph, with a clear focal point, a splendid atmosphere, a great economy in details. Expert editing but not a book illustration where the medium does really not count.
I liked your photos before you got immersed in photoshop which took over the photography.
This photo gave me the feeling that you were going into the direction of illustration:
. The majestic, sometimes aloof Mont Saint Michel became the princess castle.
This is the reason why I do not mark your shots. I commend you for the photoshop technique, your extraordinary diligence , the perseverance and enthusiasm and wish that you'll develop more and into different directions. Sometimes the cheers of an audience makes one stuck to one road while there are so many other possibilities.
Keep exploring! |

28/52 - hard to readby mitalapoComment: The baby's face is exceptional! It's like a Picasso.
I cannot but look at this image as if it's a painting or a drawing, therefore I wish that the mother's arm would fade or be totally in the dark or simply cropped (leave the tattoo on the shoulder though).
I was very impressed by the original image also. I do not want to tamper with your image, but if I were you I would play more with it in terms of cropping the arm. It's a spectacular image. |

Waiting for her returnby markwileyComment: Originally posted by bmartuch: I agree that the door is distracting. Other wise, very good shot. |
I disagree with the above. The door adds dimension and a little suspense. Otherwise, nice lighting or not, it's one more nice picture of a dog. |

Bryanby Yo_SpiffComment: I am not very convinced by this shot. Perhaps it's too even. Perhaps it looks a bit like a snapshot, a family pic.

yellowstone1by vawendyComment: Lucky you to witness this scene! To me, your shot lacks focus. Where am I suppose to look first? I wish that the birds were the main point of interest but the background does not help.
Would B&W help?
Good idea with the critique club Wendy! |
