How goes it? Sorry this is a tad late but better then never yeah?
So, I really like this shot & its title. Its a nice candid capture. Some things I would do differently tho, are as follows:
- Settings on the cam- if I'm using a 1600 ISO, i would definitely use a faster shutter spped. In fact, I would use a 1/60 shutter spped. Would have avoided the hand trail in the gesture. Also, the lamp prolly wouldn't have been overexposed.
-Since the lamp was a but blown, I would have cropped it out or shot the scene from a different angle.
- Too much neat image or whatever noise remover yu used. It's overkill, at least fo rmy taste.
I do like the colours in the shot, it's deep, subtle & rich. All in all, it's good stuff!
Hope this helps.

Daddy and son visiting Londonby alexgarciaComment: Hey Alex,
Greetings from the CTPII!
I think this is a cute shot with a lot of potential. The exposure and focus is nice and well done. What takes away from this shot, IMHO, is that is it overly busy. The statue in the foreground and even the light pole in the background seems to be competing for the focal point. The sky is a bit washed out but it's rainy London so I'm sure there's not much to do about that. I wonder what this shot would have looked like at night or approaching dawn.
Hope this helps a bit.
Peace

tahoe_sunset.jpgby meyersComment: This is a nie shot. Really great capture! Only thing I wold change is cloning out the sun spot. I know you used basic editing but short of reshooting I don;t know how one could remove that spot. Atfter the sun, it holds the focal point. Good stuff! |

Listenning to myselfby TOYComment: Hello! Dude, you're H-O-T! Great shot & title. A tad of the over exposed side tho but gonna vote it as if that were intentional. |

C.H.I.C.A.G.O.by DigiFotoBuddyComment: From the Critique Post II
Hey!
I'm not sure there is too much t critique here. The scene is really magnificent and a good choice. Unfortunately, this particular scene has been shot many times at dpc so your shot might have been compared some from the past.
The reflection here is really great and I really like the light in the lower BG. The focus, however, is too soft anf takes away a bit from the beauty of the cityscape. I would only suggest that trying to use a higher ISO (maybe 400 or higher) & a 2 to 3 second shutter speed might have yielded a sharper image without overexposing the lights.
Last technical note would be that the choice of aperture was dead on & quite apparent & consistent through the shot.
Hopre this helps.

Hey!
So there are several things I really like in your shot. The focal point here has some great architecture to it. Really wonderful choice. The statues in front also add to the environment as well. Finally the back drop colour of the sky is a really nice tone. All these things that make your shot unique are things that I would have like to see with a bit more emphasis.
If you were to reshoot this scene, may I suggest an angle that crops out the trees. Perhaps a chot from the front that has all the major components of the building but not all of it. I think the height of the building makes it difficult to shoot the entire thing & still retain the uniques to it.
Some technical stuff: on my monitor the shot looks a bit over sharpened and a tad on the dark side.
I hope this helps!

Dick: Private Cockby xianartComment: From the Critique Post II
Hey X!
Very clever shot. I particularly like the door sign, subtle and cute. Most importantly, you had fun thinking up the shot, which is key for me.
I think the grain does not seem uniform which makes it hard to see it as being intentional. The focus on the rooster seems a bit too soft as well which also gives the impression that the grainy parts where caused by noise.
The only suggestion I could think of if you ever thought to reshoot this would be to use a longer shutter speed, less ISO, and a wider (shorter that is) aperture (something around 6.3 would have given you the depth you would need to achieve the clarity to read the door sign without distortion).
Hope this helps.

Staccato stilled; bass line lingersby MelethiaComment: This is a nice clean shot. I really don't think you USM-ed it too much, it seems just right to me. I think the angle is a bit off & perhaps the use of both the train tracks & the train competes with one another as the focal point as both have distinct repeating patterns. |
