I can't vote in this challenge, and I'm glad, because I wouldn't know how to vote on your picture! It's lovely, beautiful, compelling, fascintating, inviting, soft, warm, but definately NOT mundane! Perhaps you're so used to this scene that it's mundane to you, but not to me! Regardless of the challenge, I really like your image, the framing, all of it! Good luck!

Sea Shells on a Silk Shore

The background is hurting this picture (the shells don't "pop"), the shadows are really distracting, and the shells themselves are placed rather oddly. Can't tell what texture you are highlighting. The stuff on the bottom side of the greenish shell is distracting. As a whole, the image doesn't have all that much to say. Sorry, 1.

Black and white is a good choice, lots of texture here so you meet the challenge, it's a bit dark but on the other hand that conveys a mood, so if I were to change just one thing I'd make the black frame thinner (with perhaps a white line between the frame and the image. This kind of subject is one of my favorites and I like how you've done this one.
