Funny story Deb! I have been so lax in comments lately. This is a wonderful shot and it's a game I played as a kid whenever we went into the city, lol. My son also enjoys this game whenever we go to the zoo (which hasn't been at all lately). He prefers the bigger game of chase the peacock, but will take the pigeons if that's all that's available. The lines and shadows are so cool!

It's not really the pose that's awkward, it's the crop. She looks kind of amputated in an odd way, lol. Really though, you are on the right tract and these are wonderful for the first time.

C&C? Ok, but you asked! First you need to smooth out the flyaway hairs, especially the ones at the top of the head. They appear to be very sharp and give an odd look. Second, your lighting seems to be really harsh on her right side giving the white of the eye and the cheek a blown appearance. Also, this creates a harsh shadow separation between her breast and her shirt that's not flattering.

Now the props, lol! She a very pretty woman and you caught a beautiful smile. The pose is very natural and relaxed. Overall, nice job!
