Heliophobia - Fear of bright sunlightby h2Comment: Incredible! Gave this a 10 and deserved every bit of it! Score doesn't make sense. Most people must have thought fishing lines were used which IMO should be disallowed in these challenges unless it is expert editing. |

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Monthby chazoeComment: Like the post processing a lot, but one thing that is key in this image is the belt! It takes a few seconds to figure out what it is. I wish you had made the belt a little brighter so it would speak to us more loudly. After all it is a very important element in this photo. Make it jump out the screen and talk to us and not make us go look for it. |

Shine by h2Comment: I believe DPC advanced editing rules allow multiple shots for increased depth of field (read the first paragraph under the advanced editing rules), so I guess you could have still left the flowers in the bottle and taken multiple shots with various focus points and then blended them together in photoshop (edit-> Auto-Blend Layers ...) ... or have I misunderstood the rule? Thank you, Janine! I used all 3 extension tubes hooked up together. I always take the lens hood off when I use these tubes because when I use the tubes I get even closer to my subject that I normally would. It takes some time getting used to them and in my experience a little harder to focus with them on than without them, but they provide amazing results on tiny subjects. |
