Wait a minute ... that's unreal (the something else you mentioned, that is). How much of it is due to the hand of man? Fascinating capture. Love the tones.

ETA: Congratulations. I got so carried away by what I was seeing that I forgot to say that !!

Great catch, so much to enjoy ... the leading line provided by the railing, reinforced by the direction each woman is facing; the other railing jutting in to anchor the lower right area; the textures; the grayness of what appears seems to be an approaching rain storm; then the bare feet and the flip flops lined up below which some reason I find rather endearing!

On a completely different topic this caused me to look at a map to see how close Ballarat is to the coast, and where Torquay is, since for me that name is associated with Devon, England. That led me to the realization that I've never appreciated that Melbourne is located on a large bay. Thanks for the incentive to refresh my geography!

Great perspective, and anchored to each corner. But it's the birds, silhouetted at that, that make it!

I see a divining rod, and it seems to have found some water. Mesmerizing.

Love the spontaneity captured, and the broad arrowhead created by the waves.

For some reason I'm feeling a slightly Norman Rockwell vibe. Perhaps it's something about the processing or the way the mother is holding the child's hand and the curve of each of their arms... Lots to enjoy here.

Be still my heart! My parents retired to the village of Dittisham on the river Dart, and that is where I'd return after I'd emigrated to Canada and subsequently to the USA.

Good catch, I don't recall the water being this smooth very often, but then we were often hoping for enough wind to be able to sail.

I wonder if these are the moorings up by Stoke Gabriel? The Drascombe Lugger sail boat my father had was on a running mooring, so a close watch on the tide timetable and a willingness to wade in the mud sometimes was all part of the routine.

I hope you had a wonderful outing!
