| 01/26/2003 12:17:08 PM | Gold Blend by NatashaComment: very cool shot that definitely meets the challenge. i like the lighting and the reflection, it all works really well together. there are a couple of scratches or something in the bottom left on the surface, they are a little distracting. but i'm nitpicking because this is such a nice photo :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/26/2003 12:10:52 PM | Milk and Cookieby JackoComment: challenge met, good catch. i guess this wasn't your first try because there are already quite a few crumbs in the milk. a little bit distracting, but it's not like you are going to filter or replace the mild for each shot. pretty amazing that you got the oreo just the right way up and the splashes are pretty cool, too. good frame to go with the picture. :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/26/2003 12:06:48 PM | Not a dropby DezComment: challenge met. interesting angle on the glass, nice even background. i wonder what this would've looked like with milk in the glass. the frosted glass looks a little dirty (even though i know it's only the frosting) and the milk would've covered that. |
| 01/23/2003 06:00:35 PM | Caught Snackingby AnachroniteComment: this is a really creative idea that meets the challenge well. the photo's nice and sharp, too, but your lighting is too uneven for my liking and distracts from the photo overall. it looks as if you used a very strong light, i wonder if you are one of the growing DPC community that use workman lights. i have those and have found that they give me very nice and even lighting if i put the camera on a tripod and hold a white bedsheet between the light and the subject of the photo. another nitpick would be that the mouse cable seems clipped just a little bit on the left. either crop more of it out or keep it all in, this way it looks a little accidental to me. probably keep it all in in this case because i like the curve of it through the picture. overall, a decent and creative photo :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/23/2003 05:57:49 PM | Strawberry Splashby jodiecostonComment: this is a powerful concept that definitely meets the challenge. the red works well here and i think your frame complements the photo well. composition-wise, this is also good, just enough visible of the strawberry so that the viewer can easily identify it. the strawberry looks a little grainy or out of focus to me though, and i'm not totally sure about the strong shadow from the light or flash. i guess you need some to be able to see the "splash" part, and i'm not sure how easy it would've been (if indeed possible) to tone the shadow down w/out loosing the visibility of the splash. good photo :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/23/2003 05:54:37 PM | Cheers!by elgominComment: challenge met, and creative. centering your subject works well here, the cheese, straw and the decorative glitzy thing break up the symmetry well, and help balance the overall shot. i like the colors, and that you have echoed them in the frame (especially the thin red line), but, personally, i think the yellow part of it is just a little too wide. your focus and colors are good, one other (very minor) nitpick would be that the shadow is cropped a tad at the side, it's so little that it looks accidental. either crop it more or keep it all in, i think, especially since you have such a plain background that the shadow is pretty noticeable. overall, i really like your photo, sebastian :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/22/2003 05:43:53 PM | Always Drink Your Milk.by MajorChaosComment: i bet you are getting comments about the size of this photo. it is hard to see all the details, and it would have been nice if you'd used a width of at least 500 pixels (i know your photo's size is perfectly legal, i'm just telling you what i'd prefer :). the colors are great, so is the idea. nice sharpness, and the milk on the beak is a nice touch. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/22/2003 05:41:47 PM | Yoghourtby lionelmComment: hm. i wonder how many comments you are getting from people that don't get it. or that say that this doesn't meet the challenge. i'm not sure, either. the only thing i can think of is that this might be the lid of a yoghurt carton. i think a different background color could've enhanced this, i would've also liked this better in an abstract challenge rather than a milk/cheese kind of challenge, but that's just my personal taste. overall, other than speculating what it is, my interest isn't held very long by your photo, while the lid leads my eye through the picture, i am searching for something additional to also look at ... | Photographer found comment helpful. |
