My, What Big Eyes You Haveby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by boyd2000: Based on the set-up shots it looks like the sideways facing faces were purely unintentional. |
Yes! I'm so glad you spotted those -- usually I'm good at seeing the "other picture in the picture" but not this time. The actually remind me of the traditional comedy/tragedy masks seen in association with the theater industry, which was actually one of my alternate topics if I hadn't gotten hold of this one.
The other reason I cut off the nose was that it was pretty lopsided, and I didn't think I could (legally) clone it enough to straighten it out -- I try to avoid taking any liberties with the rules that other members might not get away with. :-) |

My, What Big Eyes You Haveby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by LydiaToo: "Find or create a mask, and photograph someone wearing it this week." I had to count off for the 'no wearing' part... but it's an interesting image... I wish the bottom of the mask weren't cut off. |
I wish the bottom weren't cut off too, but leaving it in would have required too much cloning work to have been legal under the applicable rule set. I tried to fix these problems in the print version.
BTW: The mask is being "worn" by my vitreous friend, Professor Airhead:

Demons of the Blue Vortexby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by Melethia: A bit strong on the processing for some, I'm sure, but you really did create another world out of a flower shot - very cool! |
I named the photo as I did because it really reminded me of the swirling cloud of demons at the end of "Night on Bald Mountain" as depicted in Disney's Fantasia. |
