I'll keep this short, left half is somewhat negative space (intensional?) The sky is blown out (intensional, too?) The sign is almost readable. Best suggestion: walk up closer to the building and take the shot in portrait. 6 Swash

Title and picture don't quite match. The building looks in disuse, but from what I can see, it's not that bad. The copper roof appears normal, the patena wear is normal for a 10 year old (or less) building. I like the boardering trees, nice touch. 6 Swash

In my opinion, this is a side-step of the challenge. The toys are new, the man isn't THAT old (no gray hair!) and I play with toys (cat-toys, yes, but they are toys). The photo is well taken and hammy acted, but I cannot agree with this interpretation of the challenge. Best I can go is 6. Swash

Almost a wide enough focal range (tad more would have helped). Challenge well met. Framing is O.K. Intersest is a tad low (maybe a match lit, some small fire, some red lighting, that sort of thing might have helped). Started you as a 6, but it's more like a 7. Swash

This Old House

It's a fine house, and a fine shot of that house. I think you needed the sign in front of the door to be clearly visible. If I am reading it right, the house is dated 1886, very old. Problem is, w/o the sign, it could be a relatively new house, it's in great shape! Is the focus a tad soft? 6 Swash

Nice shot, what, no smoke from the barrel? I try to not fight the black and white stuff too much anymore, but even though this turned out better than most, I still think I would like this in living color. The far wheel top nearly disappears, plus the greens, browns, blacks and greys would have looked really nice. O.K. off my high horse....8 Swash
