Autumn science

Using a magnifying glass to enhance the details of the leaf is a great way to bring out the theme of the challenge in this shot. I like how the color of the leaf inside the glass is more green than the leaf to the right of the shot and how lighting them from behind gives them a sort of translucent quality. Very nicely done.

Chemistry of a Cigarette

This is a great anti-smoking campaign shot. I like that you have the text slightly angled and the cigarette straight on. The lighting is good but I'm not sure about the focus being soft on the cigarette. It's not too bad and the clarity of the words seems good, but I'm wondering if it would be a little better if the cigarette itself were a little crisper. No matter. I still like the concept a great deal. 8

This is a beautiful up-close capture of an autumn leave--very appropriate for this time of year. I love the detail you captured, particularly the veins of the leaf and the colors fading into each other.

Kind of a cool abstract. Even though it doesn't scream "Science" to me (haven't the foggiest idea what Haematology is), I like the colors and lighting and I like the clarity of the droplet (is that what it is?) so that you can see the little air bubbles floating around in there. You get points just for making me linger here trying to figure out what this is! ;-)

This has good potential (great colors and use of sunlight) but that pole is really distracting and I think maybe a little more of the person's body, or maybe even his arms in the air pulling him more into the shot, would have been better. I like the angle you shot from though, getting the underbelly of the frisbee that way.

This is so unique and your title is wonderful. I like how the lighting captures so much detail of the seed feathers and how you captured the one lone seed taking flight. Very nice.

This is so interesting. It looks almost like a painting. I love how the flock of birds is spackled across the sky in such a random flurry and what I suppose is actually an overexposure causing the clouds to seem so stark (I'm not a photographer so I don't know techniques, all I really know is the affect and I like it here). I wish your title was as creative as the shot. ;-)

Wow, I feel like I've been transported back in time! This is just wonderful. I love the textures in both the field and the sky which make the smooth lines of the airplane and the boy really stand out. I also like that the moment you captured this shot, the plane was right in front of the one real break in the clouds, brightening it up and almost giving the impression that it's what parted the sky. Good luck with the challenge.

This is a nice capture. I like the red tones and the halo affect behind the head of the rear horse. I wish the photo were a little larger so I could better see some of the detail since it appears to be a little blurry and I think in this particular instance, a crisper focus would enhance the shot more than a soft focus.

This is nifty. I'm glad you made it black and white. I think I'd lose the little guy on the top left. I think he's a little distracting from the bird in flight. Nevertheless, I like this a lot. If I could vote in this challenge, I'd give you an 8...and then probably reconsider and up it to a 9 or 10. LOL! Good luck.
