A nice use of composite framing. To me, having the leaf on the right at an angle might have provided a better line for the eyes to follow.

| The lighting in this is exquisite! I love the leathery look of the greenish leaf under the lense. Magnification, what a cool thing. This is subtly screaming science, to contradict myself. I like the placement of the lense/magnifiying glass, I think this is crucial in the photograph. |

| Using a magnifying glass to enhance the details of the leaf is a great way to bring out the theme of the challenge in this shot. I like how the color of the leaf inside the glass is more green than the leaf to the right of the shot and how lighting them from behind gives them a sort of translucent quality. Very nicely done. |

Yes, I think this is an excellent way to meet the challenge. Seeing things under a magnifying glass is a great analogy for a lot of what science is about. And it looks great in this shot, lovely colours and composition. I think a lot of science is also about studying the inert and dead to understand the living, so autumn works very well for you here.
