I understand the fantasy concept of their never being peace in this world, and it is depicted by the guns and war toys in the trash can. I really appreciate the flower stuck in the gun barrel. I guess what bothers me the most about the photo, is that it is shot in a setting that makes me wonder, "Why is there a trash can in the middle of a field?" I would really think that this would need to be placed in an urban setting to get the most impact from the photo. A smaller DOF would also be helpful to focus the attention on the can and guns, instead of on the bright (and interesting) grasses and flowers in the background.

While an interesting take on the challenge, The selective coloration of each of the trees is not to my taste. The edges of each tree, especially the orange and yellow one look really cut and pasted. The background, though darkened out, still shows the house roof, and it doesn't add to the photo as well.

I'm guessing that you did the blurriness of the photo to try to fit it into the challenge of being another world. However, it just doesn't work. I'm betting that this photo with the family strolling down the road, if it was to the left just a little, and in focus would be really good for the leading lines theme. Sorry.

Giant Man-Eating Lizard from Mars

Classic movie scene. I do think the highlights are just a little too bright (some of the horns on his cheek and the spikes on his back), which draw attention away from the eye which should be the focus. DOF is good with the eye really sharp, but my eye keeps wandering down to his cheek/jowels. 6

Sharpness and lighting are good in this picture. A little more clarity in what the picture is would help to boost the score, as it is, it makes for a good abstract. 6

Creative use of color adjustment, but doesn't speak much to me. I find it just a little dark. Still a 6 for being one of the few pictures that is trying to go to a fantasy world.
