wake upby jmritzComment: After il papa by one Francis Bacon..
There is this, and the warm
Dutch gold, the delicious
diffusion of the underlying
lines of ruche, the gold
going grey, then green -
mind blown from the mouth.
A great obscurity
referencing another.

Casa do Penedosby LelezComment: The manor is called "Casa dos Penedos" (House of Stones), a private holding. Google has more info. Message edited by author 2011-01-20 21:31:11. |

detected-lr-DSC_0303by tangueraComment: This is quite cool as it is, although I'd love see just the lit figure negotiating the magic carpet toward the Benz ΓΆ€ΒΆ. This, to me, is the whole story. |

Remarks: the vignette, in the sky section of the image, could perhaps be a little lighter and more subtle for my sense of an (otherwise) exquisite image. The diffusion of the forward texture (sand forms and pattern) toward an elusive vanishing point is quite convincing and delicious. Lens and/or aperture choices as well as the degree of toning applied serve the image well without drawing undue attention.
I love the pure emphasis on location, the emptiness and expanse of it all, without addition of a prop or staged element to simulate a more overtly composed landscape. It's a quiet aesthetic that won't wake everyone. Yet the riot it conceals is equally there, churning its delicate gists. |

Exhaust by pointandshootComment: Love the incredible depth and energy achieved here, notwithstanding the grounded mystery that drives so much of your work. What bothers me is the little offset extension of the flare trail in the upper left of the image. My sense is that the composition could be even more dynamic with the horizon shifted by corresponding length upward, keeping the eye within the image, instead of beckoning outward... |
