Unfortunately you haven't gotten any comments yet, so I'll add what I see in the picture. The edited picture looks very overexposed and washed out with white light. The original actually looks much better to me and I feel it would have scored better with no editing. I know to you it appeared too dark, but that was better than too light.
I think you did very well with the composition of this shot. If you only have the camera flash you can try diffusing the flash some with some tissue paper in front of the flash or maybe a ping-pong ball with a notch cut to fit the flash. However you may be better off just using normal room light or maybe add some table or halogen lamps. Bounce the light off the ceiling to reduce the shadows and harshness.
Finally, you may not feel right doing this with your daughter, but she is very beautiful and if you had untied the top behind the neck and let the strings drop under the money it would have had a sexier look. Her expression is great. |
