My first thought after seeing the title was "how did they get it up in an attic?" but you mention old British cars in the lot, so I guess this is a dealer's attic, which maybe has access for cars? It doesn't look like they have touched it for quite some time with all the dust on it. It's a shame, with some time and money this car could really look nice. It's a nice find, in a place you wouldn't normally look.

Now, on to the photograph. It's cropped very tightly, maybe because that's all the room you had to back up in the attic? Some more space on the right would have been good, and if they would let you move that piece of metal on the left edge to clear the fender would help also. Some other pieces sort of blend into the car also, but since it wasn't yours to move around you probably did the right thing by not overextending your privileges to get into the attic.

You did well with the long shutter speed and small aperture. I imagine there was not a lot of light in the attic, and you got good DOF with those exposure settings. It would be nice to get the shadows off the front but without additional lighting and in Basic editing you couldn't do that.

I like the detail you got in this less than ideal setting. Everything from the swirls on the body to the dirt on the floor came out very clearly. You chose an excellent shooting position, taking advantage of the light above to the right and getting a very nice perspective on the car body.

If you had an off-camera flash or a reflector to bounce back some of the light to the front bumper area I think it would have helped. The B&W processing works very well here.

A pretty good shot that should have probably scored higher than it did. Keep it up. PM me if you want to discuss further.

Congratulations on getting your second best score and by beating your estimate by a quite a bit.

I think you did well on your composition, though it's just a bit crowded on top of the crane and if possible it might have been nice to see the lower part of the buildings.

The completed buildings frame the under construction building well. Your title emphasizes that as well as maybe giving an unfortunate inevitability of progress feeling, but I might be reading too much into it.

As you and another said the sky is pretty blown out. I get the same white skies too often and I haven't figured out the best cure for it. Maybe underexposing it all or exposing for the sky, but then the subject would be underexposed. I think you did the best you could with Basic Editing.

I like the geometric patterns shown in the picture; the horizontal layers of the building under construction, the lines of the crane and the checkerboard pattern of the windows in the completed buildings. The orange on the left side of the building blends well with the orange of the crane and top of the building and nicely offsets the monotone gray of the rest of the shot.

As you said, it would be more interesting with people working on the building. With that not a possibility maybe pulling back some more and getting more of the building and the surrounding buildings would be good.

Overall you did pretty well on this, and a few small improvements may have helped you get a better score.

I'm glad you got so many comments, especially after voting, which is rare for images not in the top 20. Most of it has already been said, especially with AP's excellent comments. I'll add some beyond those comments that I agree with.

The blue background gives a sort of paint pallete or painting perception, contrasting nicely with the guy and his bike.

You got pretty good motion blur for a fairly fast shutter speed.

If this wasn't Basic Editing I would recommend doing some burn on the overblown top part of the shot, and maybe on the back of the guy. Your only recourse would have been to find a better location to shoot from to avoid the highlight areas.

I like the capture of the concentration on the guy's face (despite the sunglasses covering his eyes) and the rotation of the bicycle frame.

You cropped to nearly a square format, which is risky and liable to get complaints here. I'm assuming it was to remove other distractions. It would have been nice to have the entire bicycle in the shot, or at least the guys feet. That's hard to do at BMX speeds, but maybe zooming out to a wider angle than you will crop to would give more flexibility in editing. Unless you were very close you had lots of wide angle left. In an action shot like this the slight loss of quality from cropping would be forgiven. I use the same lens as you do for most everything and it generally does very well, and is not the cause of my low scores.

You met the challenge very well. There is minimal blur in the background, but it definitely shows motion panning, and the short shutter speed helped you keep the motorcycle and driver in sharp focus.

Now, looking at the comments you got I agree with them. However you needed the cardboard boxes on the right to really show the motion panning, since the rest of the picture is pretty static, not revealing the blur.

I was anticipating many, many car, motorcycle, bicycle, bird shots in this challenge and I was pleasantly surprised there were less than I anticipated. I think doing the type of shot overdone so much in MP I and MP II hurt your score along with the previously mentioned items. I think a more interesting subject would have helped a lot. As it is people probably look at it for 2 seconds and go on. Granted, carrying such a load on a motorcycle is different, but since you live in Korea I bet you could have come up with something really unique to viewers in most of the rest of the world. Slowing down the shutter while still keeping sharp focus on the motorcycle would have helped.

It looks like the close-up of HAL in 2001. Interesting trying to figure out what everything is. I like how the camera is camouflaged.
