The more I look at this shot the more I like it. I like the choice of black and white. I love the element of one tortise peeking into the shell of the other. For this particular challenge, it's a strong shot- but doesn't say travel guide. That in no way, shape or form makes it any less interesting. Solid DOD and good composition make this a very good image. I see this as something that can end up on a greeting card. :) 7 for this challenge, 9 just on merit. :)

Texas Highways

This explains much. Obviously Texans use roads as photographic props and not places to drive. ;) I like the cloudline, and the color is good. My major problem is the placement of the road. It ends up dividing the lower thrid of the image in half. It just bugs me. You have a great thrids thing going all the way through (top third blue, next is the cloud layer, then the road/grass) .

What dad did you shoot this? I was down with a friend on Saturday. The sky looks right which makes me think we just missed you. :) Nice color! Not sure I like the angle. The trees throw it a bit off balance. Good job getting people on the steps.
