These things are nasty and have no fear. They charge out at you no matter how big you are. That being said this is a wondrful shot of an otherwise nasty little bugger. I like the lighting and the DoF is spot on.

Is it "My Dear Friend" as in the "dog" or "My Deer Friend" as in the "tractor"? If it is the dog then I offer you this to think about. You could move back a little and get him totally in the frame and I think that would help this as well as a different background. If it is the tractor then you should be a little closer.

Fantastic shot. The lighting is geart as is the DoF. I'll offer one thing up for you to consider and that is the shadow, it's a little distracting and as a result pulls your eye from your focus point, but once you look past it you move back to your subject. Overall this is one of the better shots I've seen so far in this challenge.
