This is not over the top at all. It is a great image. I applaud you for pushing and questioning the viewers visual perception. Eventough they will penalize you for being daring the viewers need to be challenged.

This is a great photo that should of ranked higher. I love how the two women provide the only source of collor (therefore life)in this scene. There is a sense of loss because very soon they will exit the frame and those colors and the energy will leave as well. The composition, desaturation, but more importantly the strength that lies in the subtleties of this image is wonderful.
