 I really like the result here, but thought it may have been too over the top with camera movement.

This is not over the top at all. It is a great image. I applaud you for pushing and questioning the viewers visual perception. Eventough they will penalize you for being daring the viewers need to be challenged.

Actually I love that this pushes the boundaries for your viewers - titled as "marina" I would have found this a breathtaking impressionistic abstract of the scene.
