Time is upby EnnilComment: I guess I just don't understand posed photographs. Perhaps I should give up. |

It's a Girlby babylonComment: It must be of course, because of the colour, huh? The selective de-sat has an adverse effect on what might otherwise have been, to me, one of the more interesting baby shots I've seen. It'd even be more interesting if you'd said it was a boy. Maybe it's effective around here, but I prefer to make my own stories from an image - I believe that's where the magic lies - rather than to be slapped around the retina and told what's most important like this. |

Is the White Light safe?by jmleliiComment: Cool location, and well executed photograph. Interesting how the leading lines ccomposition can also work to show the isolation of subject(s). |

Nest of Pearlsby jfwolpertComment: For such a set-up shot, you might have wanted to get rid of the brown marks on the egg - can't see that they ad anything to a shot that imitates the clean and shiny world of jewellery advertising. The reflections in the pearls are a bit cluttered and a give-away of the room and set-up - you can almost see you reflected in them. |

the mouse and the crocodileby slickshooterComment: Your light is quite poor, and the shot could be more effective simply by working on that element alone. I'd guess this is an on-camera flash and bit of ordinary tungsten light from the room, and shot against a black background of velvet or something. The black works, certainly - it appears flawless.
The room lighting has leant an unpleasant orange tinge to the edges of everything, and your main light is so front-on that it prevents us getting much real sense of shape or texture. I'd try moving the main light ot one side, and getting rid of the room lights, and using a piece of paper as a reflector to fill in the shadows a little - you'll get a muich more pleasant effect that way. |

Spaghetti cable installationby scaramangaComment: Good light, great detail. Composition is well thought through, but it comes across overall as rather meaningless to me - doesn't engage my brain beyond an appreciation of the technical facility. |

Drying Lingerie: Garden Hosery!by 777STANComment: I like the formality of this - and the sense of elegance. I wonder whether the tonlaity is really useful - black and white (and it's halfway there already) would concentrate the viewer on the shapes and forms more effectively. |

Bathroom + Newstand = Digest heavenby muur88Comment: Wonderful photograph - the sense of dynamic is very strong, giving a real interaction and motion to the shot. Can't help but think that 'toilet papers' might have been a better title, but maybe that only works for the English. This should win - I don't believe it will, but it should. |

Rainy day. Old Europe.by LevTComment: By far the most interesting shot so far - and quite enjoyable. Some good compositional choices, but somehow I wish there were a little more of a dynamic to it - it lacks something, though I couldn't say what. |

September Rainby AlainComment: Quite well composed - although the out of focus echo of the tall stands on the right side is probably unfortunate - it draws the eye too far out of frame for good effect, I think. |
