Greetings-card pretty, and well composed photograph. Doesn't really communicate a great feeling of tactility to me though - I'm not sure snow is a great subject for texture - that conjunction of appearance and experience, the fact that it looks all fluffy and feel cold and wet ...

Real depth of detail lost in that loss of sharpness - camera resolution, cropping or processing I've no idea. Kind of intersting subject, though rather chaotically organised - a very busy shot and the background doesn't help that at all. Close-cropping can be a great trick, but is only half-applied here.

Never really found these liquid-metal tone photos very likeable. This seems more about refraction of light than of texture. Obviously a 'good' photo, and those tones are pretty well brought out. negative space to right of frame is a pity - though if i brighten things up a lot I can see stuff there. I guess ther is some suggestion of the feel of water, after looking a while, so I won't give you the 'doesn't fit the challenge' thing :-) 6

Good textures, almost a landscape feel. Perhaps more about the colour than the texture, though. I find the composition a bit bothersome: there isn't a real subject here - the eye just wanders, but the inclusion of the sky makes it more than a rhythmically composed shot, drawing the eye toward the 'horizon' all the time.

Blatantly dpc-friendly blue background here :-) Well enough lit to show the skin texture, though that of the note suffers and has become very bland. Skin tones are oddly red (maybe that's just you :-)).

The roughness of apparently smooth things :-) The angle is good, and the complex/simple contrast. My eye is constantly pulled toward the foreground keys, and then back to where you've placed the focal plane, whcih makes for a disconcerting conflict in such a minimal composition. I have no problem with the very shallow DOF, but more with the point fo focus you've chosen.

Lighting and the level of contrast (perhaps rather the level of mid-tones) you've chosen to use here don't do a lot for this. I think the idea of the contrast of young and old skin is good, though I find the 'joke' a bit twee, and this doesn't communicate that contrast effectively.

Good contrast of subject, but the framing of them lets this down. Also the moment of light you've chosen - I get no real sensation of variation of texture between these two things.

This may be the first time I've seen a shot with on-board flash that actually achieves some quality of texture :-) makes it look very hard - though as it's presumably dead that's probably accurate. The top shadow is a shame - constantly pulls the eye away from that in-focus area where I think, for this challenge, you'd want the eye to rest. Actually, in classicla composition terms, you have leading lines working against your area of interst, which is what makes this a little unsatisfying despite the good texture.

Interesting thinking - and at least trying to do more than one thing. Compositionally a bit blunt (did you try positioning the knife further left in frame?), and the texture of the stone is not well shown - no sensation of that light graininess of it, for me.
