Mud, Glorious Mudby sulamkComment: Very detailed, very realistic - which is what might be bothering me about it - just too simplistic an image. Don't find a great deal to hold my attention in it. Some sense of texture atleast, which is more than many managed. very even light, almost like laboratory conditions. |

Vintage Powder Boxby SamaraComment: Good scene of its type - rather bucolic perhaps. Your lighting could have been better to emphasise the texture here, like this its rather flat, and perhaps in the end its a simple figurative representation of the decoration. |

Snack Timeby GraciousComment: Clean composition, good sense of the smoothness of the container, and the brittleness of the popcorn. colouring of background complememts the box well too. Not somethging to really grab my eye though, despite the good lighting. |

Camellia Budby sfaliceComment: Works. First soft-focus shot i've seen i think, and very effective to soften that texture. Good composition, and marvellous gentle colouring. |

Trappedby visitorComment: Pretty - might have been even more effective without those foreground drops - on the less is more proposition. Don't get a strong sense of texture from it, but its a good image nevertheless. |

so soft ...by Jamie2772Comment: Too small animage, don't find the composition very pleasant, doesn't exhibit much quality of texture to me either. Poor, as an entry I fear - just a snapshot. |

Industrial Tartanby johnmComment: Really can't see this as being about texture - the over-exposure on those pipes and boards doesn't help that. Good, and reasonably intersting on the patterning of the scaffold, but without that real dynamic to grab the eye. |

untitledby MattOzComment: Like the suggestion of landscape in this weathered tree-stump (?) The rhythm of the circles shows well in black and white. Beyond that, lacks a fair bit of interest for me - noothing grabs and holds my eye, and doesn't have that real detail of focus and lighting that are needed to reveal the texture, though that could also be simply the light you've chosen. |

Coral Fantasyby MickComment: Not sure I go for those electric colours, don't think they help with the display of these textures. It allseems very low in frame, too, and the empty space above it doesn't serve a lot of function to me. |

Package of Lightby lear202btComment: Good on the luminous quality, and the clarity of the glass, but little sense of feel from this. Whilst presumably following the rule of thirds, moving it out of frame like that seems arbitrary - and the rules don't necessarily pertain to a square aspec ratio. Good detail though. |
