I somehow always think of minimalism being more stern than this - not so lighthearted. I don't really know why, possibly because it seems such a cery intellectual philosophy. This is great though - image and title.

I like the texuring of this, but that sky feels so very bizarre ... even though I'm sure it's a levels/exposure thing, it just is weird.

Orange in the Grass

Strong colours, good composition - the semi-percieved lines in the grass work well. The vignetting is useful too. I think I might have been tempted to get a touch closer, personally, to play up the contrast of texture too, if possible - I think you could afford to be a touch more orange in this challenge. It's difficult to decide whether I like it or not - I shall come back to it.

Oh to be able to smooth out those little imperfections on the water - such a presence here, against that smoothness. I would love there to be a bit more fine detail on the feather; this is a fine shot though.

Strong work to retain that ddetail in the moon; and I like also that your chosen landscape is so very plain. I don't like, for this challenge, the enormous graininess of the sky, however: it seems to go against the 'full control' element that is so often a hallmark of minimalism. But it's an interesting approach, certainly.

Certainly meets the challenge, but lacks detail - whether that's procesing or your original is impossible to say, other than that there do seem to be problems left from processing - especially in the highlight on the orange thing.

Neat enough idea, although I think shots using only the very bottom of frame are going to get a touch 'normal' by the end of this challenge :-) It's certainly well organised, and well detailed, but it lacks any greater impact for me - perhaps more careful light would have helped: you could have done more, I think, to shape and define that bloom with a soft high side-light, for instance.

Good, I like this. You've reduced the necessary information used to portray your subject to an absolute minimum, I would say. The concentric pattern of the light is key, and that pin is clear although its nothing more than pure black and white. strong compositionally also - feels like you've paid attention to the fine details, all of which stuff I would suggest is requiite for minimalism.

I like the sense of the far shore here, and the compositional balance between your two subjects. Minimalism? Yes - I think so: it has that engagement with a different type of landscape, a little like the New Topography school of photography.

Da,m the basic editing restrictions: a simple graduated Nd filter could bring that sky more into line with the rest of the shot, and the equivalent in 'shop is forbidden. This is good work: I'm not wholly sold on your composition - specifically the partial includion of that foreground-most rock image right. But the light is gorgeous, and well caught.
