This is wonderful Roz! This is a very pretty bird. I thought that it was a senegal at first until I saw the wing colors. You are so lucky to be where there are so many wild parrots. I hope that you can get friendly with a few of them that you like. If you call, whistle, or ring a bell when you put feed out, they will quickly learn that there's food when they hear the sound. It will make it easier for you to bring them close for photos. Keeping a regular schedule for when you feed them helps too. They just know what time of day it is, esp lunch time.

This is very thoughtfully composed. Your camera settings were exactly right for the scene too, with shadow detail, good highlight control, and good color.

I also shoot like this occasionally. With a little practice, you can get to know the angle that your lens will capture. I find that shooting with focal length at about 35mm seems to get close to the angle of view that I would normally be seeing while looking at the scenery.
That is a very interesting looking old place, with all the historic looking farm equipment.

Now we know where the presidential seal came from. It's interesting that from this pov, the group of rocks look like some kind of animal, with the head being at the right end.

Nice shot Judi! I'm happy to see that you are getting out and about again and recovering from your fall.
The way you backlit parts of the rig and truck with flash, and painted the foreground for this make the shot for me. That takes a lot of skill and a dash of good fortune to get it just right. The WB is perfect in this too.
The Watson people should be very happy with this one.
The star trails somehow remind me about you being dizzy for a while after the accident.

This would even be great in B&W. You made the most of what was available to work with by way of good composition.

Looking for an early fix..

The reflections and the wet look in the street and the cafe sign add a lot to the perception of how this scene might smell and feel. The moving person in the foreground puts in an element of mystery as well. Nicely found, and exposed just right for the effect that it would have in person.
