I went up the canyon from our house to take some pics of my girls, and to get some shots of the fall colors. I had recently read a photo blog encouraging taking pictures from a moving car(not driving of course) without looking through the viewfinder. So I tried it, most were not that interesting, this one I really liked. Notice the blurred fence in the foreground.

Cool work! The motion blur in the foreground sets the background off nicely.

Reminds me of a secret cult tucked in the mountains. Not that I would know what one looks like. What are they up too? Did they see you?? I think we should call the police..

I also shoot like this occasionally. With a little practice, you can get to know the angle that your lens will capture. I find that shooting with focal length at about 35mm seems to get close to the angle of view that I would normally be seeing while looking at the scenery.
That is a very interesting looking old place, with all the historic looking farm equipment.

Kinda' cool to have the motion blur in the foreground and clarity in the background.

...and still got your fall color, lol. Not bad for a moving photographer.
