IMG_16612 bog-s4w2.jpgby rozComment: Yep, they really fixed the trail didn't they? That's a mess of clay and sand you have there in your back yard. I know how much you love to trek up and down it, and it looks like tough walking this season, and will be very rough even after it dries. I hope that they smooth it out some for you later. This is a pretty shot, other than the messy trail. I almost can feel the mud between my toes when looking at the image. |

big-sky.jpgby suitenessComment: Excellent. I see why you like this image. The horizon is a little "wonky" but it does not seem to matter much. You seem to be doing very well in your first month on DPC. |

The Universal Photographerby GermaineComment: I understand this image, and the title fits well.
Many of your portfolio images are beautiful, and you seem to have a special connection to pastel colors which you use to capture many very pleasing and relaxing scenes. |

It looks like your new lens is going to serve you well. |

Rural Rainbowby cginoComment: You captured this rainbow well. The sun must have been shining brightly behind you for it to show up so clearly. The weather in Fl is a lot like this too. It can be pouring rain on one side of the street, and sunny on the other side here. The country side in NM is just a treat to see and photograph in early Oct, or at least it was last year. I liked the open spaces like this between the towns. |

Rock Danceby cginoComment: You really got these to show up well with your post processing. I went to the Nat'l Monument at Abq, and it seems strange to walk among such art from so long ago, and to wonder about the meaning of it. |

Name that flowerby suemackComment: I see you have chickens in the yard too. Good timing to get the two of them looking like they are studying the flowers. I think there are about 50 chickens around our neighborhood, and they all come here to eat the scraps that my parrots throw out of their bowls under their cages. Your portfolio looks a lot similar to mine in the subjects that you like to shoot. Message edited by author 2007-06-25 00:21:23. |

Two bays, no waitingby jackal9Comment: Very nice little piece of history. Garage bays like this used to be at every service station when I was a kid, but are now getting very rare, and even more rare to see one open for business.
The image fits the challenge very well. The windows on the back wall are a little off center, and could have been centered by a slight move to the left with the camera, but there may have been something blocking that move. I like color better most of the time, but this looks great in B&W. There is an odd illusion that the image is wider at the top than the bottom. You may have had the camera angled just a bit up, which causes that because of the barrel distortion of most wide angle lenses. It just looks more evident in this image because of the vertical lines of the blocks in the walls.
I like the pic. Message edited by author 2007-06-25 00:12:46. |

My Lightby CharleneComment: I like the way you used the trees to cover a lot of the bright sky, and to frame the church. Shooting at a different time of day would give a shot from this same point a completely different look and feel. The backlight works well with your title in this case.
It looks like the lights on each side of the entrance are on? In archetectual shots like this, in order to get the lights to look good at dusk or after dark, a long exposure is used, and someone flips the lights on and off for just a blink. They show up good, and don't blow out completely that way. |
