Why have you forgotten me?by JerseyGenieComment: You know, in looking at this shot, I have to say that it truly grabbed me. There's an air to this shot that just sort of "captures" the imagination and once a shot has done that to me, I don't care about the technical aspects. There are millions of technically "perfect" shots out there but, if they don't capture an emotion or they don't capture interest, then they are not worthy of even half the glance that a shot that emotes something from the viewer deserves.
Please don't let the DPC voters' opinions on the technical aspects disuade you from taking these types of shots! We can get bogged down in the technical aspects and lose our "eye" for the content and our own individualized styles.
Remember, anyone can always improve on what they do and anyone can sit and tear apart a shot, based on technical aspects but, it takes a true "soul" to see the beauty in something that is not "perfect". This shot reaches for the soul. |

Focus and Reflectby colorcarnivalComment: Water has it's own "soft focus" doesn't it? I love that you captured your shot by thinking "outside the box"! I truly hope that others get this too!
Like a calm water's surface, Life is but a mere reflective illusion. Only when the surface has been broken, do we see what truly exists.
Life has a way of creating those ripples so that we see reality. |

Dreamsby KliopatraComment: very pretty! I see where you were going with this and it truly does suit the "soft focus"! Even the color of background and material used in it truly suits it. I think that perhaps, had the middle pearls been a little more in focus, it would be a perfect shot! Nicely done though! |

floatingby IndigoButterflyComment: I love the "complimentary color" usage to this shot. I'm just wondering if you're getting a lot of comments about it not being "soft enough"???? I've found that DPC voters take the challenge descriptions quite literally and unless you've followed it to a "tee", they're not going to give it a fair shake. Hope this isn't the case with this one because it's a really lovely shot! |
