VSOPby BAMartinComment: Barbara
many congratulations on the great score and finish and your own personal 4th PB
This was a fantastic image, you did an incredible job capturing the flame in the glass. You have clarity yet an almost mystical apperance to it and I love the colour range
Superb photo |

2007: Down in Flamesby SandyPComment: I loved the intesity of this photograph. Its impact was such that I could almost smell the smoke and feel my skin tighten from the heat
I thought the silhouette worked brilliantly for a number of reasons
1. It allowed the viewer to see the size of the blaze
2. Compositionally given that it is at a rule of thirds point in helped provide a great structure to the shot
3. The pose, without being overstated seemed to really convey the sense of resigned helpness of the person against the fire
Beautiful range of oranges and a great job getting the actual licks of flame so sharp in the image |

Carving Turns in Tandemby bassboneComment: Peter, I loved this photograph and to be honest I am surprised that you only finished two places above me. Wonderful sense of progression that tells a story and great sharpness and colours.
Really fantastic shot that may not be on your front page but imo is a real keeper (and possible framer)

Ice Coldby KarenNfldComment: Karen
I thought this was a fantastic abstract and macro (and certainly you picked the right one to enter having looked at your outtakes)
Tremendous B&W conversion and great bokeh of the river. Beautiful array of textures as well
This looks as if it should be the front cover of a murder mystery book |

In Focusby ryandComment: My absolute favourite of the spectacles through glass type entries in this challenge...A really nice take on both the challenge and the delivery concept. Outstanding focus on the reflected image and a very nice B&W conversion |

Urban Beautyby audreyrulesComment: IMO One of only a few portraits in this challenge that has gone beyond the norm. Fantastic pose and a shot which undoutedly incorporates specatacles but does so with a degree of subtly...This shot is of a trendy urbanite who happens to be wearing glasses rather than of a pair of glasses which happen to have someones face behind them
I like the graduated blue from trousers to top to - could perhaps have been a toch sharper but still a great 8 |

Icy Blue Finger of Winterby bassboneComment: Brilliant image that is wonderful in its simplicity. Great composition and the duotone works really well. Outstanding job avoiding reflection or glare from the ice
Congratulations on the 5th place finish - a tremendous start to the year |

Penguins on Iceby CharleneComment: Congratulations on the 6+ average and your third highest score. I love this picture for so many reasons, firstly I cant believe that you actually saw nuns on ice, secondly I love the fact that when you did you managed to capture them so well (when something like this happens it is like God has sent you a sign!). Great black and white conversion and brilliant that one of the penguins is in mid spin. A photo that made me smile and smile.
Overall its like a dream that Brian Boitano may have!!! |
