 There isn't much ice around in Vermont right now - it's been too warm. But I did find this one with a really cool texture and a nice soft lit background. Hoping it doesn't come across too common - but we will see...

I Figure about a 6.

Shot in RAW - opened in PS. Noise Ninja. Adjusted levels, curves, hue/ saturation - colorized to blue. Cropped and saved for web. Opened and USM at small radius. Save.

Post Challange Thanks for all the great comments during voting. I was quite happy with this one. I found this really clear icicle right by our front door up in Vermont. It was mid afternoon and by lining up the light from the clearing formed by our parking lot directly behind the icicle, I got this clear ice it to become really translucent. Very cool that you all liked it!

Oh...And Thanks to Hot_Pixel, who provided some great feedback as to which way to go in the challenge...my other shot would have bombed (but I liked the old guy in the photo and probably would have entered it because I liked him)

Woo hoo, Peter, another HM to add to your growing collection! What a fantastic photo this is. That background lighting is absolutely stunning. Almost looks like the icicle is in a studio it is so well lit. You are really kicking my butt lately but couldn't be happier to see you producing such fine work :-)
