Day01by doc_gonzoComment: Interesting patterns on the blade of that knife. Nice high contrast still life. Might pop a little more with a tighter crop, not sure all that negative space is enhancing the shot. Overall, nice. |

smokies.jpgby sherComment: Looks fine to me, good detail in darks and nothing blown out. |

Day 1 Pruby TCGuruComment: Nice tones and good clarity. There's a sense of imbalance here which jars strongly when presented with a reflected image. Your intent? Perhaps this image would be better served by playing around with the crop? |

Day 1 - Garden Eleganceby BudyaComment: Nice glow indeed. If possible you should steal this thing and get it in front of a solid black background. I do like the reflections though, they add another dimension to the image. |

day1.jpgby PuckzzzComment: Very nice. High contrast always tends to catch my eye, and this is no exception. I don't know why you tonemapped this, but that's your choice. Message edited by author 2007-09-01 11:25:08. |

Day 01 - Hand in Handby shalrathComment: I see you tonemapped this, in which case I have to say it is the first tonemapped image that hasn't made me want to throw a rock through my monitor. Wonderful exposure. The water on the brick street gives just the right amount of highlights to make the darker areas of the image pop. Quite nice. |

bewareby ordinaryangelComment: I'd go with the top crop suggestion as well, but this is really well done. Great range of tones, good capture of shadows. Has a very 'real' feeling to it with a strong sense of depth in the image. did you dodge the concrete rim of the hatch a bit or is that the way the light was falling? If dodged, very subtle job that works really well. |

1-Rooftopsby BudComment: This is a really interesting study. Were I in this hotel, I think I'd spend a couple hours shooting everything in sight. Love the textures. |

Nice (sic)by korpenComment: One has to wonder why the reflection of a dark gray sky is a cheery blue. |
