We've had a fairly drizzly day here today and it seemed the perfect day to shoot some black and white street shots, so here is day 1.

Was this taken in Japan? It reminds me much of the street scenes there. This is well done and works beautifully in b/w. Despite all the details, the focus remains on the subject.

Great subject matter. You're absolutely right, the dreariness of the rain is great for the b/w conversion. But I like the contact between the girls. Very sweet.

I think this is a good shot but I think there is alot going on in the BG. Now I know there isn't much you can do about it but maybe on the editing part you could have blurred them or soemthing.

Good work though. I do still like it.

Umbrellas really do make a shot don't they? Nice composition and use of tonal ranges. ;~D

This works well in B&W. The school uniformes set the tone and carry it well. I love that they are in step with each other and the girl on the right in the photo is holding her umbrella off to the side suggesting that they just met up and that it is easier for the taller of the two, to hold the umbrella. Gerat capture, I love the rain. Keep up the good work. MAX!

This is a great capture, a sweet one. Great contrast in the shot as well. You did a good job taking the shot in the rain. The focal point of the girls under the umbrella is not lost with the busy BG. Nice job!

Very nice street photo. Think it could be a little sharper, but the subjects and the rain compensates a lot.

Nice combination of an interesting main subject and a background which further strengthens the image with all the umbrellas.

I see you tonemapped this, in which case I have to say it is the first tonemapped image that hasn't made me want to throw a rock through my monitor. Wonderful exposure. The water on the brick street gives just the right amount of highlights to make the darker areas of the image pop. Quite nice.

I used to live in Seoul, Korea when I was a teen for a couple of years when my father was stationed there. And yes you captured what I used to see perfectly. Great B/W Street photo. Love the composition.

I love this shot. The casual mood is really captured here. Great composition and DOF. I like the guy in the back kind of taking notice of the 2 girls walking in arms. Ok, so I'm a sucker for good street candids so what?!?

Great Job!

Your photos always show the side less seen... many people wouldn't even have noticed this lovely show of affection... you captured it perfectly :)

What a great shot, I like the shiny wet pavement and the focus on the two girls. You get a sense of movement and I love the DOF.
