The title helps to add to the ominious feeling of this shot. |

Had to chuckle over wronp's message. I agree, be careful of what is crawling up those stairs! ;)
Not sure about cropping the image, if it were my image, I would probably add a couple of layers to it, a burn layer, set to multiply, and a dodge layer set to overlay. Just to bring up the creepiness of them image. Make certain parts darker and bring up highlights on others. It may not work, but is always fun to play.
Thanks for capturing an ordinary item and making possibilities come alive. :) |

Very creative to shoot this. It gives me that scary I'm not sure I should be down there feeling. This is very well shot. Excellent work |

Go down there... hell what's just come up? I agree that the top is distracting. The shades and contrast are very well done and give the photo it's "beware" feeling. |

I think the B&W and the title makes this photo more interesting. Perhaps you should have cropped some of the top away to make it more dramatic. |

I'd go with the top crop suggestion as well, but this is really well done. Great range of tones, good capture of shadows. Has a very 'real' feeling to it with a strong sense of depth in the image. did you dodge the concrete rim of the hatch a bit or is that the way the light was falling? If dodged, very subtle job that works really well. |

Kind of cool... I would almost crop off the top of the photo - it might help the eye be drawn even more strongly to the ladder. |
